 The nanominiature connector (a.k.a. "NANO")
is a little known connector size that has been around for
more than 25 years. It was typically used in the high-end
military/defense market. The original design was based loosely
around the more familiar microminiature (a.k.a. "Micro")
connector line. The Micro connector is designed with .050°± contact
centers (pitch) whereas the NANO has .025°± centers.
The 2 to 1 ratio in contact pitch equates to a 4 to 1 ratio
in total space required. The NANO requires only 25% of the
space that is typically needed for a Micro connector with
the same number of contacts. The electronics world is getting
smaller and smaller so this feature becomes quite necessary.

RJ45 Series with LEDs

In response to customer demand, Edac has released a
complete family of right angle PCB jacks that are fully compatible to the RJ45
CAT 5 industry standard and contain one or two independent LEDs per jack. Jacks
are available as single units, or ganged as 1x2, 1x4, 1x6 or 1x8 ports. Vertical
ganged units are also available in sizes 2x1, 2x2, 2x4, 2x6 and 2x8. All versions
can be selectively loaded from 2 to 8 contacts per jack, and the contacts can
be plated in various levels of gold, from gold flash to 15, 30, or 50 micro-inches
of gold plate.Standard LED colors include red, green, yellow, and bi-color
red/green oryellow/green. Other LED colors are also available. Each unit is
available in either shielded or unshielded versions. Edac series number is A20.
Minimum factory order is 1,000 units per part.
