Thin Film Technology
Corp. (N. Mankato, MN) -
July, 2008 - TFT announced its "NEW" line of chip
"Power" Resistors, the CP2512 Power Resistor family
of products. These power resistors are designed to tolerate
high current and establish a low thermal resistance interface
with the circuit board. This lower thermal resistance more
efficiently sinks heat to the board, enabling a larger
effective area for heat dissipation. As a result, much
lower surface temperatures are achievable in comparison
to standard chip resistors for the same chip size and applied
power. With proper material selection, design & mounting,
these resistors are capable of handling 16 watts of power
in a 2512 (0.25in x 0.12in) size. These ROHS compliant
parts are offered with a standadt resistance tolerance
of +/-1.0%, Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR)
of 25 ppm or 50 ppm, and are packaged on tape and reel.
